I Didn’t Struggle Because I Lacked Ability, I Was Simply On The Wrong Path

I didn’t struggle because I lacked ability. I struggled because I was on the wrong path.

And it took me years to realize that being busy is not the same as being aligned.

At 16, right after high school, my parents wanted me to study Engineering. I eventually landed in Computer Science at a Polytechnic.

For four years, I struggled not because I was not intelligent, but because I was in the wrong department.

After graduation, I was fortunate to get a role in an NGO. My work involved training, strategic meetings, problem-solving, research, report writing, budgeting, accounting, and most importantly, listening to and counseling people.

I loved the work.

But my certificate didn’t match my career path.

To “fix” that gap, I enrolled for a postgraduate degree, choosing what was available, not what reflected my strength.

It didn’t sit right, so I pursued another postgraduate degree in Public Administration.

Still, something was missing.

Three years later, I realized what I truly wanted was Management, specifically people, systems, and growth.

The turning point?

I took a course on self-discovery.

Weeks into the process, the light bulb finally came on.

My strength was clear: Human Resources Management and Human Development.

And when I found it, everything aligned.

My career.
My dreams.
My motivation.
My character.
Even how I felt inside.

Alignment changes everything.

If you feel stuck, misaligned, or unsure of your next move, you are not broken. You may simply be out of alignment.

Comment “ALIGN” and let’s start the journey to clarity and purpose.
